Lenora Ellen Geiger, 95, a former resident of Green Township in Noble County and widow of R. Franklin Geiger, passed away at 9:58 p. m. on Saturday, April 20, 2013 at North Ridge Village in Albion.e She had been a resident there since 2007. Mrs. Geiger was born on March 22, 1918 in Eel River Township in Allen County, a daughter of James F. and Elva (Bosler) Fulk, and graduated from LaOtto High School in 1936.e She later graduated from Manchester College, and received her master's in education from Indiana University, Bloomington. Her career as an elementary teacher spanned a period of 33 years, including Huntertown, Charter Oak, Green Center, and Avilla.e She retired from Smith-Green Community Schools in 1982 after 16 years. She had done extensive genealogy work for her family and the community, and was a quilter, seamstress, Bible scholar, Haiku poet and an artist. She was a member of the Sugar Grove Church of God, Indiana Retired Teacher's Association, and the National Retired Teacher's Association. On February 27, 1941 she was married in Columbia City to R. Franklin Geiger of Noble County, and lived all of her productive adult life on the family farm in Green Township.e He preceded her in death on December 22, 2010. The surviving relatives include her children Joan (Hanson) Young of Huntington, Janice (Robert) Parquet of Churubusco, and John F. (Janis) Geiger of Columbia City; a sister Ruth Arehart of Churubusco; eight grandchildren Carey and Lamar Young; Suzanne, David and Steven Parquet; and Matthew, Nicholas, and Andrew Geiger; and 11 great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by brothers John, Jay, A. Lee, and Jacob Earl Fulk, and also by an infant brother. Funeral services will be held at 11 a. m. on Thursday, April 25, 2013, at the Sugar Grove Church of God with Pastor Tim Grable, officiating. The family will receive friends at the Sheets & Childs Funeral Home in Churubusco on Wednesday from 4 to 8 p. m., or at the church one hour prior to the service. Interment will be in the family plot at Eel River Cemetery, south of Churubusco.
