Leon Maley

Leon "Short" Wayne Maley, Sr., 56, passed away on November 13, 2016 at 11:13 a.m. at his home in San Diego, Cal. He was born on April 12, 1960 in Columbia City, a son of Leo and Mary Ann (Jacob) Maley. Leon spent his formative years in Chicago, and graduated from De La Sale High School in 1978. He loved watching and playing sports, playing his air guitar, and especially spending time with his family. He is survived by his daughter Christina (Marc) LoVetere of Chicago; two sons Leon Maley, Jr. and Derrick Maley both of New Haven; a sister, Karen Goodwin of Fort Wayne; a brother Robert Maley of Fort Wayne; eight grandchildren, Kevin, Brandon, Genesis, Adrianna, Starr, Kayden, Jamison, and Hailey; also by his nieces, nephews, cousins, and Uncle Kenneth Maley. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by two brothers, Pat Maley and Jack Leininger; a sister Beverly Maley. The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 26, 2016, at the Sheets and Childs Funeral Home, 206 North Main Street, Churubusco, IN 46723. A prayer service will be held at 6:00 pm. Please direct memorials to the family.
