Leona Bracht

Leona M Bracht, 87, of Huntertown, passed away at 11:05 a.m. on Tuesday, March 28, 2017 at Lutheran Life Villages at Pine Valley. Born on November 26 ,1929 in Perry Township, Allen County, she was a daughter of the late Versil and Mary (Rhodes) Hatch. She Spent her formative years in Huntertown and graduated from Huntertown High School in 1948. On August 15, 1948, she was married in Huntertown to Morris H. Bracht. The couple raised their four children in Huntertown. Leona was a member of the Huntertown United Methodist Church and belonged to the United Methodist Women and the Huntertown Homemakers Club. Her husband of 66 years preceded her in death on June 30, 2015. Surviving are her sons, Tim (Cheryl) Bracht and John (Ruth) Bracht both of Huntertown; her daughter, Laura (Matt) Deckard of Fort Wayne; a sister, Carol (Ron) Eby; eight grandchildren and six great grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by a daughter, Elaine Kay Bracht; a great grandson, Hezekiah Sewell; and her brothers, George Hatch and Donald Hatch. Visiting hours will take place at Huntertown United Methodist Church on Friday, March 31, 2017 from 3:00 PM until 8:00 PM, calling also one hour prior to the service. Services will begin at 10:00 AM, at Huntertown United Methodist Church on Saturday, April 1, 2017. Burial will follow at Huntertown Cemetery. In lieu of flowers please make donations in Leona's name to the Huntertown United Methodist Church.
