Leone Gross

W. Leone Gross, 91, a resident of rural Churubusco in Allen County and widow of Gerald L. Gross, passed away at 1:45 a.m. on Saturday, April 15, 2017 at Lutheran Life Villages at Pine Valley. Mrs. Gross was born on January 15, 1926 in Churubusco, the only child of Everence and Mabel (Green) Bonar, and graduated from Churubusco High School in 1944. On October 7, 1944 she was married in Churubusco to Gerald L. Gross. A homemaker, she also assisted her husband in the operation of the family farm in Eel River Township. She was a member of the Fellowship of Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church. Mr. Gross preceded her in death on March 29, 2016. The surviving relatives include her children Janet Mathews of Fort Wayne, Michael K. (Madonna) Gross and Timothy B. (Ronda) Gross, both of Churubusco; four grandchildren Todd Mathews, Troy Mathews, Angie (Craig) Frieburger, and Jason (Tracee) Gross; and three great-grandchildren. Graveside services will be held at 11 a. m. Tuesday, April 18, 2017 at the Eel River Cemetery, south of Churubusco. Rev. Larry Smith, pastor of Fellowship of Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church, will officiate, and interment will follow. At Mrs. Gross' request, there will be no calling hours.
