Lewis Allen Brewster, 86, of Kendallville, passed away on Tuesday, December 24, 2019, at his home.
Born in Decatur, on July 19, 1933, to the late William and Mary (Murphy) Brewster. He spent his formative years in Fort Wayne and graduated from Elmhurst High School in 1952.
Lewis was married to Ruthanne Heiniger on March 27, 1954. She preceded him in death on Feb. 27, 2010.
He was a plumber at Shambaugh and Sons.
He was a Scout Master with Troop #3410, Thunderbird District of Fort Wayne, a member of the Leo American Legion, Board Member of the Calvary Evangelical Lutheran Church in Cromwell and a 50-year member of the Plumbers and Steam Fitters Local 166 of Fort Wayne. Lewis served in the U.S. Navy Korean War and was a part of the Honor Flight #32 on May 22, 2019.
Survivors include his three sons, Lewis G. (Imogene) Brewster, Timothy (Lori) Brewster and Christopher Brewster; nine grandchildren, Amanda Kemerly, Christina Hildebrand, Tiffany Malone, Mindy Rios, Steven A. Brewster, Angela Banyai, Megan and Morgan Pfeiffer, Ryan McCullough; several great-grandchildren.
In addition to his wife and parents, he is preceded in death by a daughter, Laura Gunkel and a son, Rex Brewster.
Service will take place at Sheets & Childs Funeral Home on Tuesday, December 31, 2019, at 11:00 a.m., with calling one hour prior to the service.
The family will also receive friends at the Funeral Home on Monday, December 30, 2019, from 4 to 8 p.m.
