Linda Born

Linda Born, 77, of Columbia City, passed away on July 19, 2024, at Miller's Merry Manor, Warsaw. She was born on June 25, 1947, in Huntington, to the Late Carl Edward and Rosalie (Brown) Stresemann. She spent her formative years in Columbia City and graduated from Columbia City High school. Linda was married to Richard Born, Sr. on November 15, 1997, in Waterloo. He preceded her in death on April 28, 2023, after 25 years of marriage. A beloved mother and friend, Linda was admired for her strength and resilience, having navigated life's trials with grace and tenacity. In her spare time, Linda's hands were rarely still, as she found great joy in crocheting and creating beautiful pieces of diamond art. Linda is survived by her sons, Jeff (Angie) Mabie, Jason (Karen) Mabie, James Mabie, and Richard (Dawn) Born, Jr.; her seven siblings, Cathy Brown, Richard (Mariann) Stresemann, Vickie (Harvey) Fry, Nancy Stresemann, William Stresemann, James Stresemann, and Marjorie Meyer; her seven grandchildren, Lisa Truex, Justin & Mandy Muchowicz, Blyane & Paige Brooks, Eddie Mabie, Brent & Elizabeth Beasley, Kendra Newton, and Skylar Born; 18 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren; several nephews and nieces. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her infant sons, Ronny and Jared; and great-grandchildren, Jaquavia and Timothy. A funeral service will take place at noon, on Wednesday, July 24, 2024, at Sheets & Childs Funeral Home, Churubusco Chapel, with calling one hour prior to the service. The family will also receive family and friends at the Funeral Home, on Tuesday, July 23, 2024, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Sheets & Childs Funeral has been entrusted with these arrangements.
