Linda Deck

Linda Deck, 82, of Churubusco, passed away on February 4, 2025, at Ashton Creek Health and Rehab Center. She was born in Fort Wayne on May 5, 1942, to the late Wilson and Laverne (Evard) Schweitzer. She spent her formative years in Fort Wayne and graduated from Central Catholic in 1960. Linda moved to Churubusco in 1979 to raise her family. She was married on June 13, 1986, to Gerald Ford. He preceded her in death on December 30, 2007. She was later married to Warren Dean Deck in Churubusco, on March 11, 2011, at St. John Bosco Catholic Church. He preceded her in death on July 6, 2019. Linda had great care for wildlife, which led her to start a wildlife care rehabilitation center from her home that she ran for 10 years. She was a proud member of the Precious Moments Collectors Club, the Parkview Senior Club, and St. John Bosco Catholic Church. Linda's passion for life extended to her hobby of visiting garage sales, but perhaps most of all she held immense love for her dogs, which she considered part of her family. Linda is survived by her daughter, April Miller; son, Donald Boseker; her sister, Kay (Bruce) Snider; six grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren; three nephews and six great-nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husbands, she was preceded in death by a son, Chris Boseker; a grandson, Dennis Boseker. A funeral service will be held on Monday, February 10, 2025, at 2:00 p.m., at St. John Bosco Catholic Church, with calling beginning at 11:00 a.m, at the Sheets & Childs Funeral Home, Churubusco Chapel. Linda will be laid to rest at the Eel River Cemetery, Churubusco. Sheets & Childs Funeral Home has been entrusted with these arrangements.
