Linda L. Wierschke, 83, formerly of Wolf Lake and Columbia City, passed away on November 12, 2025, at Miller's at Oak Point.
She was born on March 29, 1942, in Wolf Lake, to the late Paul and Regina (Scattergood) Bair, Sr. Linda spent her formative years in Churubusco, graduating from Churubusco High School in 1960.
She then served her country in the United States Navy. While serving in the Navy, she met and married Gordon Wierschke in 1962. He preceded her in death in 2015.
The couple eventually settled in Wolf Lake in 1976, where Linda nurtured her passion for service as a school cook for the Central Noble School Corporation for over 25 years.
Linda, known for her love of travel, gambling, playing games and cards, and sightseeing, was always happiest when spending time with her various groups of friends or cooking for others.
She is survived by her daughter, Laura (Jeff) Gump; her son, Scott (Marsha) Wierschke; her brother, Paul Bair, Jr.; a granddaughter, Lauren (Derek) Clark; and a great-grandson, Luke Clark.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her brother, Max Bair.
A memorial service will be held at 12:00 p.m., on Saturday, November 22, 2025, at Sheets & Childs Funeral Home, Churubusco Chapel, with calling beginning at 10:00 a.m.
