Linda K Zimmerman

Linda K. Zimmerman, 81, of Columbia City, passed away at Parkview Regional Medical Center on September 23, 2026.

Born on December 29, 1944, in Winchester to the late Herman and Mary Alice (Monroe) Holdeman. Linda graduated from Lee L. Driver High School in 1962. After high school, she attended Indiana Business College for accounting, where she met her soon-to-be husband, Max E. Zimmerman, Jr. The couple married in Winchester on August 14, 1964. He preceded her in death on March 19, 2025.

She was the secretary for First Church of God in Columbia City for many years and later enjoyed the clients she came to know while working for Whitley County Council on Aging.

Linda was a member of Sugar Grove Church of God and also enjoyed fellowship at Columbia City Church of the Nazarene. She founded Whitley County Right For Life, had a heart for post-abortive women, and was deeply involved in trying to make her community and her country better. She loved the lake, camping, attending grandkids' activities, family campfires, music, birds and flowers, but most of all Jesus and family. She loved blessing her family with her cooking. Her walk with God was evident in her smile, her love for her family, her tireless work to preserve life and freedom, and her fighting spirit to defend right from wrong.

Linda is survived by her two daughters, Jennifer (Carl) Dietz and Lory (Greg) Norden; six grandchildren, Danielle (Scotty) Kessler, Stephanie, Jessie (David) Moreno, Kayla, Joshua, and Karsten; three great-grandchildren, Adalie, Lee, and Dean; sister, Sheri Huston; and several beloved nephews and nieces. She was preceded in death by a sister, Janet VanNatta.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, September 28, 2026, at Sugar Grove Church of God, Churubusco, with calling one hour before the service.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 27, 2026, at the Sheets & Childs Funeral Home, Churubusco Chapel.

The burial will take place at Round Lake Cemetery, Columbia City.
