L. Ann Herendeen, 83, of Churubusco, passed away on August 20, 2021, at Parkview Whitley Hospital in Columbia City.
She was born in Albion, on October 19, 1937, to the late Clayton and Mildred (Stevenson) Smith. She spent her formative years in Albion, graduating from Albion High School in 1955.
Ann was married to Max E. Herendeen in the Asbury Methodist Church, in Albion, on October 13, 1956.
She worked as an Instructional Assistant for Smith-Green Community School, retiring in 1997, after 24 years.
Ann loved God, family and music. She was active in her church and had a thriving card ministry. She really enjoyed talking on the phone with family and friends.
Ann is survived by her husband of 64 years, Max E. Herendeen; four children, Cindy (Steve) Winebrenner, Tim (Tina) Herendeen, Mark (Wendy) Herendeen and Tom (Cheryl) Herendeen; several grandchildren and many great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Steve Smith; a grandson, Jamin Winebrenner.
Services will take place at Merriam Christian Chapel Church, on Friday, August 27, 2021, at 10:00 a.m., with calling one hour prior to the service.
The family will also receive friends at the church, on Thursday, August 26, 2021, from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m.
Burial taking place at Christian Chapel Cemetery, Merriam.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Merriam Christian Chapel Church or The Lighthouse: A Biblical Life Recovery Center in Fort Wayne.
