Lora Bridegan, 86, of Churubusco, passed away on September 25, 2025, at Parkview Regional Medical Center.
She was born in Churubusco on August 3, 1939, to the late John Franklin and Marie Estella (Claxton) Addis, Sr. She spent her formative years in Churubusco. She attended Collins School and was part of the first graduating class of Churubusco High School.
She was united in marriage to Elvin Bridegan on December 15, 1958. Lora began her career at Victor Gasket, which became Dana, where she retired after more than 35 years. Her hobbies included camping, singing, and collecting treasures. But what mattered most to Lora was spending time with her children and grandchildren.
Lora is survived by her husband of 66 years, Elvin Bridegan; her son, John Bridegan; her daughters, Jennie (Richard) Collingsworth and Jacki (Michael) Johnson; her brother, Jerry (Gloria) Addis; her sister, Grace Slater; seven grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter-in-law, Rhonda Bridegan; two brothers, John Addis, Jr., and Jim Addis.
A funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, October 1, 2025, at Sheets & Childs Funeral Home, Churubusco Chapel, with calling one hour prior to the service.
The family will also receive family and friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, September 30, 2025, with calling hours from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m.
Burial will follow at Eel River Cemetery, Churubusco.
Memorials may be directed to St. Jude Children's Hospital.
