Lorna Mccomb

Lorna M. McComb, 93, of Huntertown, passed away on March 12, 2023, at Lutheran Life Villages in Fort Wayne. She was born in Findley, Michigan, on November 18, 1929, to the late Clarence and Marie (Johnson) Stevens. She spent her formative years in Sturgis, Michigan, and graduated from Sturgis High School in 1947. On January 3, 1948, she married Bruce L. McComb in Sturgis, Michigan. The couple moved to Huntertown following their marriage. In 1973, they relocated to Apollo Beach, Florida where she was employed as a realtor for Apple Homes for five years. They also owned and operated a health food store in Sun City Center, Florida. Bruce preceded her in death on October 16, 2020. Lorna was a lifelong member of Huntertown United Methodist Church. She was a part of the United Methodist Women. She was a member of the Churubusco Order of the Eastern Star, 136. Lorna was the first woman member of the Huntertown Lions Club. She was also a charter member of the Huntertown Homemakers. While in Florida, she was a member of the American Business Women's Association, the Lions Club, and the Ruskin United Methodist Church. The surviving relatives include her children, Sue M. (Gary) Bucher, Steven B. (Mary) McComb, Nancy C. McComb-Buettner, and Lori S. (Jon) Harvey; a brother, Gerald (Eva) Stevens; a sister, Sharon Fulk; 14 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Jennifer; a great-grandson, Nathan. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Thursday, March 16, 2023, at the Lifehouse Church, Huntertown Campus, with calling one hour prior to the service. The family will also receive friends at Sheets and Childs Funeral Home, Huntertown Chapel, on Wednesday, March 15, 2023, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Interment will be in the Huntertown Cemetery.
