Lucille Proegler

Lucille E. Proegler, 97, of Fort Wayne, passed away at 7:53 p.m. on Saturday, January 21, 2023, at Parkview Noble Hospital. She was born in Churubusco on December 27, 1925, to the late Charles and Lila (Raypole) Strong. She spent her formative years in Churubusco and graduated from Churubusco High School in 1943. Lucille was married to Edwin J. Proegler on September 11, 1971, in Churubusco. He preceded her in death in 1982. She retired from General Electric in 1994, where she worked in the office. She was a member of the Churubusco Church of the Nazarene. She was involved with the Church's Compassionate Ministries and the Ladies Missionary Society. Lucille is survived by a nephew, Larry (Shelly) Adams; a sister-in-law, LaVon Strong. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Cecil Strong; a sister, Betty Adams; a niece, Linda (Adams) Lutter; two nephews, James and Michael Strong. Funeral services will take place at Churubusco Church of The Nazarene, on Thursday, January 26, 2023, at 10:00 a.m., with calling one hour prior to the service. The family will also receive family and friends at the Sheets & Childs Funeral Home, Churubusco Chapel, on Wednesday, January 25, 2023, from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Burial will take place in the Eel River Cemetery, Churubusco. Memorials may be directed to Compassionate Ministries of Churubusco Church of The Nazarene. Sheets & Childs Funeral Home has been entrusted with these arrangements.
