Luraine Boggs

Luraine Y Boggs, 89, of Churubusco, passed away on Monday, August 26, 2019, at North Ridge Village in Albion. Born in Breathitt County, KY, on January 9, 1930, to the late Harrison and Omega (Miller) Combs. She spent her formative years in Noble County. She graduated from beauty college in Fort Wayne. She operated Luraine's Beauty Salon for more than 19 years. Prior to that, she worked for Essex Wire in Fort Wayne for more than six years. She retired from The Charmaran Corp., in Kendallville after five years. Luraine was married to Garold "Gene" Boggs on October 2, 1993. He preceded her in death on September 28, 2017. Later in life, she enjoyed traveling, working in the yard, bird watching and baking. Luraine is survived by her daughter, Vickie Gerdon; two sons, Patrick (Susan Collins) McNeal and Jeffrey (Linda) McNeal; 11 grandchildren; several step-grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents and husband; her son, Michael A. McNeal; three brothers, Harrison Combs, Bernie Combs and Carlo Combs; two sisters, Dulcenia McCann and Peggy Havaland; a half-brother, George Burcham. Services will take place at Sheets & Childs Funeral Home on Thursday, August 29, 2019, at 3:00 PM, with calling starting at 1:00 PM. Burial taking place at Christian Chapel Cemetery, Merriam.
