Lynn Johnson

Lynn A. Johnson, 80, of Columbia City, passed away on November 25, 2023, at Lutheran Life Villages at Inverness. Lynn was a lifelong resident of Columbia City. He was born and raised on the farm he raised his family, on July 1, 1943, to the late Russell and Helen (Felger) Johnson. He graduated from Columbia City High School in 1961. Lynn married his beloved wife, Kathryn Blaugh, on June 10, 1967, creating bonds of love that flourished for over five decades. Together, they raised three children, Bradley, Brian, and Jill. Retiring from farming in 2015, Lynn never lost his love for the land and continued his passion for agriculture as a favorite pastime. Lynn's dedication to farming and his family were the cornerstones of his life, reflecting his unwavering commitment to nurturing both. He was a respected member of the Arcola Lions Club and Columbia City United Methodist Church. Lynn is survived by his wife, Kathryn Johnson; his two sons, Brian (Colleen) Johnson and Bradley (Jen) Johnson; his daughter, Jill (Phil) Sorgen; his brother, John (Judy) Johnson; his stepsister, Suzanne (Chick) Harker; his five grandchildren, Justin, Austin, Addie, Ella, and Meredith. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Friday, December 1, 2023, at Sheets & Childs Funeral Home, Churubusco Chapel, with calling one hour prior to the service. The family will also receive family and friends at the funeral home, on Thursday, November 30, 2023, from 2:00 to 7:00 p.m. Burial will follow at the Eel River Cemetery, Churubusco.
