Madeline Bordine

Madeline Mary Bordine, age 86, a resident ofe Miller's Merry Manor in Columbia City since 2006, died there at 2:05 p. m. on Sunday November 28, 2010.e She formerly lived in Churubusco since 1998. Madeline was born on May 5, 1924 in Detroit, Michigan, a daughter of the late Paul William and Celia (Kowalski) Bloom.e She grew up in Detroit and spent most of her adult life there.e She worked at Lincoln Motor Division of Ford Motor Co. and at Curtis Industrial in Southfield, Michigan. She was united in marriage in February 1946 to Max Zaler,e who preceded her in death in 1998.e She enjoyed square dancing, round dancing and ballroom dancing, and attended St. John Bosco Catholic Church in Churubusco . Her survivors include her son Douglas (Tamara) Zaler of Plano, Texas and her daughter Barbara (Gary) Meyer of Churubusco;e four grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren;e a brother David Bloom of Reford Twp. Michigan; and sister Rita Ramage of Garden Grove California. Besides her husband and parents she was preceded in death by two sisters Doris Tarcynski and Gladys Hise. Honoring Madeline's wishes, there will be no calling hours or services. Entombment will be at a later date in the Glen Eden Lutheran Memorial Park Cemetery in Lavonia, Michigan.
