Marcile Dykes, 86, of Fort Wayne, passed away on December 2, 2023, at Parkview Hospital Randallia.
She was born in Fort Wayne on June 1, 1937, to the late Simon and Daisy (Johns) Kimlovits. She spent her formative years in Fort Wayne and attended Northside High School.
Marcile married John Tony McNeal on December 5, 1952, and he preceded her in death on August 5, 1986. Later she was married to Chester Dykes on January 25, 1992, and he also preceded her in death.
Known for her vivacious spirit and loving nature, Marcile's life was marked by her dedication to her family and her passion for her work as a beautician. She brought joy and beauty to everyone who had met her. Marcile loved conversing with people, often saying she never met a stranger. She was an avid card player, enjoyed games, and was a wonderful cook. Her adventurous spirit led her to become a world traveler, experiencing the beauty and culture of various countries. She loved Camp Crosley in North Webster and enjoyed working in the kitchen.
She is now in the presence of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
Marcile was a cherished mother, survived by her sons, Willam (Kevin Letner) McNeal and Daniel (Kathy Winright) McNeal; her daughters, Karen Myers and Renee (Michael) Beaver; her stepdaughter, Linda Durnell; 11 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, and seven great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, John McNeal; her second husband, Chester Dykes; her son, John Allen McNeal; a grandson, Ian Myers; a son-in-law, James Keith Myers.
A public calling will be held on Saturday, December 9, 2023, from 11:00 to 1:00 p.m. at Sheets & Childs Funeral Home, Churubusco Chapel. The funeral service will follow at 1:00 p.m.
The burial will take place at Eel River Cemetery, Churubusco.
