Marie Sage

Marie M. (Gilbert) Sage 98 of Churubusco passed away November 9, 2017 at Summit Nursing Home and Rehabilitation in Fort Wayne. She was born July 25, 1919 in Churubusco to the late Charles and Bessie (Workman) Gilbert. Marie was married to J. Lee Sage on July 31, 1937 in Collins. He preceded her in death on March 21, 2001. She owned and operated her own hair salon in Churubusco for many years. She enjoyed sewing and quilt making. She is survived by many nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents she is preceded by a daughter, Rita Sage in 1996; a grandson Stacy Musice in 2007; two brothers, David and Edward Gilbert; a sister Juanita Kessler. Funeral services will be Monday November 13, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. Sheets and Childs Funeral Home with one hour viewing prior to service. Visitation will be Sunday November 12, 2017 from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery in Churubusco. Memorials may be directed to Heartland Hospice.
