It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Marilyn (Foote) Rosentrader, a loving, dedicated, and supportive presence in the lives of all who knew her. Marilyn was born in Fort Wayne, on March 16, 1947, and passed into the loving arms of her Savior on January 3, 2024, at Warsaw Meadows Care Center.
Marilyn was a beacon of faith and love in her community, touching the lives of countless individuals with her kindness and unwavering faith. As we remember and celebrate her life, let us be comforted by the truth of Revelation 21:4, "He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away." Marilyn's life was a testament to this promise, and her legacy will continue to inspire all who knew and loved her.
Marilyn's life was a testament to service and dedication; she was a teacher, having dedicated many years to the education of young minds. She worked as a social studies and Indiana history teacher for Central Noble Schools, retiring in 2001. She later went on to work part-time at Impact Institute of Kendallville teaching ESL classes, and Indiana Purdue Fort Wayne teaching English.
Her love for learning was only surpassed by her love for her family and her strong faith. Marilyn was a member of Green Center Community Church, where she served her congregation with joy and humility, often playing piano and organ during services. Marilyn started playing piano as a young girl and continued into her adult life, participating in various musical groups playing southern gospel music. She took delight in her beautiful flower garden, loved cleaning, and was a voracious reader of her beloved Bible. Her home was often filled with laughter during family game nights and reunions, a testament to the warm and welcoming spirit she embodied.
Marilyn is survived by her loving husband Larry Rosentrader; her sons, Troy (Stacy) Foote, Preston (Jennifer) Foote, Landon (Kacye) Foote, and Jared (Stephanie) Foote; step-children, Sarah (Matt) Furthmiller, Aaron (Rena) Rosentrader, and Rebekah (Nick) Petges; grandchildren, Brooke, Bridgette, Blaire, Savannah, Scarlett, Luke, Eli, Drew, Kailin, Jackson, Mason, Clara, Hudson, Zachary, Andrew, Jonathan, Morgan, William, Graham, Heidi, Gretchen, Garrett; great-grandchildren, Cormac, Elowen, Arwen, Brian, Jetsen; a sister, Bonnie Sheckler; and sisters-in-law, Darlene Delanoy and Darlene Donithan.
Marilyn was preceded in death by both of her parents, Robert and Pauline Delanoy; her first husband, Willard "Bill" Foote; and a brother, Dale Delanoy.
