Marjorie Tomlinson

Marjorie J. Tomlinson, 87, a resident of Churubusco and widow of Edward A. Tomlinson, passed away at 5:20 a.m. on Monday, December 14, 2015, at Visiting Nurse & Hospice Home in Fort Wayne. She had been in failing health for some time and had entered the hospice home on December 3. Marjorie was born in Allen County on May 27, 1928, the daughter of Daniel P. and Lenna V. (Wilkins) Ferguson. She graduated from Churubusco High School in 1946 and was married on July 2, 1954 in Churubusco to Edward A. Tomlinson. A lifelong resident of Churubusco, she was a homemaker and enjoyed making photo albums for family and friends, scrapbooking, photography, and travel. She was also an avid Euchre player, and had played with the Sweethearts Euchre Club since 1979. Most importantly, she loved and cherished her family. She was a member of the Churubusco United Methodist Church and its United Methodist Women. Mr. Tomlinson preceded her in death on November 22, 2004. The surviving relatives include her children Suzanne Frazier, Greggory A. (Dianne) Tomlinson, and Dennis D. (Charlotte) Tomlinson, all of Churubusco; nine grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, and eight great-great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter Marlene Faye Crabill; and by her brother Daniel B. Ferguson. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, December 21, 2015, at the Sheets & Childs Funeral Home in Churubusco with Rev. Corinne Boruff-Stucker, pastor of Churubusco United Methodist Church, officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday from 4 to 8 p.m., or one hour prior to the service Monday. Interment will be in the Riverview Cemetery with Rev. Lane Burgland, pastor of Faith Lutheran Church, officiating.
