Marjorie Wetzel

Marjorie June Wetzel, 85, formally of rural Smith Township in Whitley County, passed away at 11:05 p. m.e on Saturday, February 23, 2013 at Renaissance Village in Fort Wayne. Ms. Wetzel was born on October 29, 1927 in Fort Wayne, a daughter of Millard and Lucy (Bilcer) McClintock.e She spent her formative years in Fort Wayne, and graduated from Southside High School. She moved from Fort Wayne to Blue Lake for a period then spent most of her adult life in rural Smith Township. She was employed at Whitley County Hospital & The Oaks in Columbia City, retiring from there in 2004 after 20 years ofe service. The surviving relatives include her sone Robert (Peggy) Wetzel of Churubusco; two granddaughterse Christina (Stephen) Peterson of LaOtto and Sherry (Douglas) Adams of Churubusco; and five great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a great grand daughter Abigail Susan Adams. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a. m.e Tuesday, February 26, 2013, at the Sheets & Childs Funeral Home in Churubusco with Chaplin Carolyn Sherrill, officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday from 5 to 7 p. m., or one hour prior to the service Tuesday morning. Burial will be in the Eel River Cemetery, Allen County.
