Marlene Ostrander

Marlene A. Ostrander, 90, of Churubusco, passed away on Tuesday, July 7, 2026, at her daughter's home.

Marlene was born on October 24, 1935, in Fort Wayne to the late Fredrick and Mary "Loraine” (Scheib) Stanley. She graduated from Rome City High School in 1953.

On November 9, 1952, Marlene married the love of her life, Robert Lee Ostrander, in Ligonier. Together, they built a home filled with love and laughter, moving to Fort Wayne in 1960. Marlene cherished time spent fishing, but her greatest joy was her family, who meant everything to her.

Marlene dedicated over 20 years to Lincoln Life in Fort Wayne, where she worked in the claims processing department and retired in 1998. Her strong work ethic and kindness left a lasting impression on colleagues and friends alike.

She is lovingly remembered by her four daughters, Gwen (Becky Shedd) Ostrander of Laotto, Lori (Eric) McBride of Fort Wayne, and Sherri (Mike) Stanford of Avilla, and Amy (Joe) Meeks of Churubusco; as well as by her 13 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren who brought her immense pride and joy.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Lee; her son, Brent Ostrander; and her brother, Charles "Chuck" Stanley.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, July 12, 2026, from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Sheets & Childs Funeral Home, Churubusco Chapel, with a rosary service at 5:00 PM.

Funeral services will be held Monday 11:00 AM, July 13, 2026, at the funeral home, with calling one hour prior to services.

Officiating is Father Cyril Fernandes.

Burial will be in the Riverview Cemetery, Allen County.
