Martha Englehart

June 30, 1915 — December 10, 2014

Martha Engelhart, 99, of Clearwater, Florida, passed away at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, December 10, 2014 in Churubusco. Mrs. Engelhart was born on June 30, 1915 in Bainbridge, Indiana, a daughter of Fred and Myrtle (Hennon) Boatman. She spent her formative years in Bainbridge. After high school she attended Central Normal College in Danville, Indiana, where she received her teachers license. On December 27, 1937 she was married in Crown Point, Indiana to Edward Engelhart, and moved to Merrillville, after her retirement the couple moved to Clearwater, Florida. She was employed by Merrillville School Systems as a fourth grade teacher, and retired in 1975 after 30 years. The surviving relatives include a son, Richard (Sandy) Engelhart of Churubusco; a daughter, Sharon (Santo) Rizzo of Lake Forest, IL; four granddaughters, Kelly Rizzo, Kristin Rizzo, Kimberly Rizzo, Brenna (Jason) Szott; a step - grandson, Jeff Kosteck; step - granddaughter, Rachelle (William) Neely; two step-great grandsdughters, Casey (Jason) Barnes and Jessica Kosteck; two step-great grandsons, Michael Neely, Brian Neely; two step-great great grandsons, Jacob Barnes and Elijah Barnes. In addition to her parents and spouse, she was preceded in death by her two sisters, Virginia Klute and Geraldine Caywood. Funeral services will be held at 5:00 pm Sunday at Sheets & Childs Funeral Home, with Pastor Rick Van Horn, officiating. The family will receive friends at the Sheets & Childs Funeral Home from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm Sunday. Burial will be in the Sylvan Abbey Cemetery, Clearwater, Fl. ****************************
