Martha J. Hubbard

May 10, 1965 — Aug 30, 2026

Martha J. Hubbard, 61, of Churubusco, passed away at her home on August 30, 2026. Born on May 10, 1965, in Columbia City, Martha was the daughter of the late William and Leona (Geiger) Uptgraft.

Martha was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend whose greatest joy in life was her family. She married Joseph "Scooter" Hubbard on August 15, 1997, and together they shared nearly 28 years of marriage. Scooter preceded her in death on April 25, 2025.

Her favorite thing of all time before having her kids was singing and music! She was the lead in the school plays and loved, loved, loved singing, and had an amazing voice.

Family was at the heart of everything Martha did. She took great pride in her children and grandchildren and made it a priority to be there for the important moments in their lives. Whether it was a special celebration, an activity, or simply spending time together, Martha treasured every opportunity to be with the people she loved. Her family knew they could count on her to be there, cheering them on and sharing in their lives.

Martha grew up in Wolf Lake and graduated from Central Noble High School. She later worked at Essex Wire and ChromaSource, where she formed many lasting friendships and connections.

Those who knew Martha will remember her warm heart, vibrant personality, and ability to find joy in the simple things. She had a special love for dogs, especially her beloved Saint Bernard. She enjoyed visiting flea markets, attending the Home and Garden Show, and discovering little things that made her day. But nothing compared to the happiness she found in being surrounded by her family.

Martha leaves behind a family who loved her deeply and will carry her memory forward: her children, Jonathan Bullock, Tonya (Spence) Kisler, Christina (Calvin) Krieger, Rocky (Rebekah) Bullock, Angel (Abe) Gardner, and Misty Sheehan; her siblings, Mary (Charles) Herman, Douglas (Laurie) Uptgraft, Russell (Peggy) Uptgraft, and Mark (Melinda) Uptgraft; sisters-in-law, Ann and Nancy Uptgraft; and her beloved grandchildren, along with many extended family members and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph "Scooter" Hubbard; her parents, William and Leona (Uptgraft) Hubbard; her grandson, Andrew Bullock; and other loved ones.

Martha's life was not measured by possessions or accomplishments, but by the people she loved and the memories she created with them. Her greatest legacy will be found in her children and grandchildren, in the lessons she shared, and in the love she gave so freely.

Though she will be deeply missed, Martha's family can find comfort in knowing that the love she gave them will remain a part of their lives forever. Her memory will live on in the stories they tell, the moments they shared, and the family she loved so dearly.

At this time, there will not be a public service for Martha. Please keep the family in your thoughts and prayers during this time of loss.
