M. Emeline Bitting, 96, a resident of Albion and widow of Ford Ze Bitting, passed away at 1:45 p. m. on Monday, December 10, 2012 at North Ridge Village Nursing Home in Albion following an extended illness. Mrs. Bitting was born in Noble County on November 24, 1916.e She was raised by John and Gertrude (Grawcock) Thorn, attended the Etna School, and graduated from Wolf Lake High School. On August 15, 1936 she was married in Columbia City to Ford Ze Bitting.e He preceded her in death on September 19, 1981. The surviving relatives include three children Clifford J. (Charla) Bitting of Albion, Mary Castle of Erie, Penn., and Barbara Lockett of Clearwater, Ks; four grandchildren Kelly (Matt) Elias of Albion, Brandon (Jane) Bitting of Albion, Jeremy (Janet) Lockett of Wamego, Ks., and Michael (Angie) Geradot of New Haven; and seven great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers Raymond Beezley and Tom Jackson; two sisters Frances Ridgley and Maradel Garver; and by a daughter Sally Bitting. Funeral services will be held at 1 p. m. on Thursday, December 13, 2012, at the Sheets & Childs Funeral Home in Churubusco with Rev. George Cecil, pastor of Cornerstone Wesleyan Church, officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home after 11 a. m. on Thursday until the hour of the service. Interment will be in the Christian Chapel Cemetery, Merriam.
