Mary Boyers

Mary Ella (Goodchild) Boyers, 92, formerly of Fort Wayne and more recently of North Attleboro, Massachusetts, passed away peacefully on Friday, October 13, 2017 at Madonna Manor Nursing Home in North Attleboro. She was the beloved wife of the late Joe Earl Boyers, who died on May 12, 1983. Born on May 8, 1925 in Attleboro, Massachusetts, she was the daughter of the late Joseph H. Goodchild and Margaret (Fanning) Goodchild. A homemaker to her family, she had proudly served in the Civil Air Patrol for many years. Mary was a resident of North Attleboro since 1997, having previously lived in Fort Wayne from 1943 until that time. She enjoyed cooking, baking, and especially making candy, and often participated in activities at the North Attleboro Senior Center, where she will be missed. She is survived by her dear children Lillie May Phillips and Darlane A. Deck, both of Fort Wayne; and was the sister of the late Joseph P. Goodchild and the late Margaret T. LaPierre. She leaves seven grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews; and many dear friends. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 3 p.m. on Sunday, December 10, 2017 in Oechtering Hall at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 1101 Lafayette St., Fort Wayne.
