Mary K. Bueker, 92, a resident of Blue Lake near Churubusco and formerly of Avilla, passed away unexpectedly on Monday afternoon, January 14, 2013, at her residence. Mrs. Bueker was born on November 29, 1920 in Albion, a daughter of Ralph and Beulah (Webster) Schlotterback. She spent her formative years in Ligonier and Albion, and graduated from Albion High School in 1939. Her marriage took place in Ligonier on February 17, 1954 to Ralph Junior Bueker. She was a homemaker, and as a young woman worked at the former Ligonier Garment Factory from 1942 to 1954. She was a member of the Calvary United Methodist Church in Avilla, its United Methodist Women's Susanna Circle, Churubusco Veterans of Foreign Wars Ladies Auxiliary Post 3846, and had also been a member of the Swan Twp. Home Extension Club. Mr. Bueker preceded her in death on September 24, 2005. The surviving relatives include her children Jane (Larry) Moos of Naperville, Ill., Fred (Jill) Bueker of Fort Wayne, Rev. Kathy (Rev. Craig) Bueker-Sweet of Springfield, Ill., and Mike (Melody) Bueker of Churubusco; two sisters Betty (Dave) Lambert of Fort Wayne and Mildred (Karl) Prough of Wolcottville; nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers Ross Schlotterback and Floyd Schlotterback. Funeral services will be held at 10 a. m. on Saturday, January 19, 2013, at the Calvary United Methodist Church in Avilla with Pastor Leonard King, officiating. The family will receive friends at the Sheets & Childs Funeral Home in Churubusco on Friday from 2 to 8 p. m., or at the church one hour prior to the service Saturday morning. Interment will be in the Eel River Cemetery, south of Churubusco. For those who wish, memorials may be directed to Calvary United Methodist Church, Avilla. ********************* e e e
