Mary T. Fletcher, 94, of Churubusco, passed away on January 6, 2026, at Oak Pointe.
She was born on January 16, 1931, in Fort Wayne, to the late Walter and Anna (Schmitt) Gadomski. Mary spent her formative years on a farm in Swan Township and graduated from Avilla High School in 1949.
On November 3, 1951, she was united in marriage to Jasper "Pete" Fletcher, who preceded her in death on November 17, 1991. Mary retired from Magnavox in 1993 after more than 25 years of service. She was a valued member of several organizations, including St. John Bosco Catholic Church, the Churubusco American Legion Post #157 Auxiliary, and the Churubusco VFW Auxiliary.
Mary enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles, and going to garage sales. What she enjoyed most was attending her grandchildren's, great-grandchildren's, and great-great-grandchildren's events. It didn't matter whether it was a sporting event, a musical, a play, or a show choir performance; she just enjoyed going.
Mary is survived by her children, Jerry (Christine) Fletcher, Danny (Donna) Fletcher, Cyndi Fletcher, Cathy (Ralph) Oberholtzer, Dee Fletcher, and Melissa Fletcher; a brother, Joe Gadomski; two sisters, Greta Gadomski and Marjorie Taulbee; 23 grandchildren, 49 great-grandchildren, and 10 great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Thomas Fletcher; two brothers, John and Lee Gadomski; and three grandchildren, Carrie Fletcher, Jon Longardner, and Josh Fletcher.
