Mary Beth Hanchar, 64, a resident of Eel River Township in Allen County and wife of Phillip L. Hanchar, died at 10:05 a. m. on Friday, July 31, 2009, at Parkview North Hospital in Fort Wayne following an extended illness. Mrs. Hanchar was born on July 26, 1945 in Coldwater, Michigan, a daughter of Basil and Marcella [Sloffer] Hoyer, and graduated from Fremont High School in 1963.e On June 1, 1963 she was married in Fremont to Phillip L. Hanchar, and loved most of her adult life in Allen County. She had been employed in the floral department at Kroger's West Dupont Road Store for several years, retiring earlier this year due to ill health. The surviving relatives include her husband Phillip; her daughters Jody Talarico of Fort Wayne and Michelle [Greg] Endris of Bedford; two brothers Gene [Judy] Hoyer of Castle Rock, Col., and Roger [Shirley] Hoyer of Angola; two sisters Fay [Court] Jarrett of Emory, Tx., and Connie [Mike] Swartz of Lima, Oh; four grandchildren Jennifer Talarico, Nicole Talarico, Jade Falls, and Nicholas Endris; and three great-grandchildren. Her parents preceded her in death. Funeral services will be held at 11 a. m. on Wednesday, August 5, 2009, at the Sheets & Childs Funeral Home in Churubusco with Rev. Corinne K. Boruff, pastor of Churubusco United Methodist Church, officiating. The family will receive friends at the mortuary on Tuesday from 5 to 8 p. m. Interment will be in the Huntertown Cemetery.
