Mary A. Norford, 96, of Fort Wayne, passed away at 10:03 p.m. on Wednesday, August 10, 2016 at Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne.
Mrs. Norford was born on September 28, 1919 in Huntertown, a daughter of August and Margaret (Kugler) Bracht. She spent her formative years in Huntertown, and graduated from Huntertown High School.
On October 21, 1939 she was married in Huntertown to James Robert "Bob" Norford, and moved from Huntertown to Auburn. Following the death of Bob, she moved to Detroit for 32 years, before coming home to Fort Wayne.
To her husband and son she exhibited a loyalty, trust, and love that was only surpassed by Jesus Christ.
Mrs. Norford was a member of Troy Baptist church in Troy, Michigan, and now attends Huntertown United Methodist Church.
Her husband preceded her in death on January 15, 1980.
The surviving relatives include her son, James Norford of Fort Wayne, IN; a sister, Helen Gresham of Fort Wayne; a sister-in-law, Leona Bracht of Huntertown; Many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and spouse, she was preceded in death by her brother, Morris Bracht; two sisters, Ruth Grogg and Bernice Bryie.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday at Huntertown United Methodist Church, Gabrielle Ginder, officiating.
The family will receive friends at the Huntertown United Methodist Church from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Saturday.
Burial will be in the Roselawn Cemetery, Auburn.
