Mary M. Shoudel, 87, of Churubusco, passed away quietly at home surrounded by her family on October 8, 2020.
Born in Fort Wayne, on January 18, 1933, to the late Harvey and Elizabeth (Hubner) Meyer. She spent her formative years in Allen County, graduating from Huntertown High School in 1951.
Mary was married to Donald Shoudel in Bradenton, FL, on June 5, 1958.
She worked as a telephone operator at Indiana Bell for 15 years. She also worked at Byron Health Center for 15 years and at Dana for a period.
She enjoyed reading, gardening, her chickens, canning and traveling. She loved to spoil her dogs.
Mary is survived by two sons, Larry (Tera) Shoudel and Ted (Sammie) Shoudel; a daughter, Barb (Bryan) Chaney; two grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; and an amazing extended family of Rex Derrow and Kayla Perkins.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by five brothers, Dale Meyer, Harry Meyer, Edward Meyer, Ted Meyer and Elmer Meyer; five sisters, Dorothy Draper, Helen Lorenz, Eunice Carr, Harvena Freimuth and Eileen Suetterlin.
Services will take place at Sheets & Childs Funeral Home on Wednesday, October 14, 2020, at 11:00 a.m., with calling one hour prior to the service.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, October 13, 2020, from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m.
Burial taking place at Highland Park Cemetery, Fort Wayne.
