Maurice E. "Morry" Grim, 79, a resident of Lake Township in Allen County, died at 10:50 a. m. on Monday, February 2, 2009, at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne.He had been in declining health and had entered the hospital on Thursday. Mr. Grim was born on August 30, 1929, in Lake Township on the same farm where he currently resided. He was a son of Francis Arnold "Bud" and Mildred Lille (Blessing) Grim and was a lifelong resident of Allen County. A veteran of the U. S. Army during the Korean Conflict, he was very proud of serving in infantry combat. He was employed as a production worker at Dana Corporation in Fort Wayne for 26 1/2 years, retiring from there in 1992. A member of St. John's Lutheran Church-Lake Township, in his leisure time he enjoyed playing the organ, building model airplanes, riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle, creating beautiful woodworking, and spending time with his family and friends. On January 20, 1951, he was married in Lake Township to Lois Edith Holt. She survives. The other surviving relatives include his children Sherry (Michael) Bojrab of Maumee, Ohio and Scott S. (Julie) Grim of Fort Wayne; four grandchildren Kiana Bojrab, Micah Bojrab, Steven Grim, and Joshua Grim; and a great-grandchild Blake Martin. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother Merle Grim. Funeral services will be held at 10 a. m. Friday at St. John's Lutheran Church-Lake Township, 7914 W. Cook Road, with Pastors Ralph Easterhaus and John Cowan, officiating. The family will receive friends at the Sheets & Childs Funeral Home in Churubusco on Thursday from 2 to 4 and from 6 to 8 p. m., or at the church one hour prior to the service. Interment with military graveside rites will be in Eel River Cemetery, Allen County.
