Mildred H. Hibben, 94, of Fort Wayne, passed away at 4:50 am on Saturday, November 23, 2013 at St. Anne Home in Fort Wayne. She was born on September 14, 1919 in Lima, Ohio, a daughter of William and Lanah Spore. She spent her formative years in Elkhart, graduated from Elkhart High School, and completed her bachelor's degree from Manchester College. She received a Master's Degree from Columbia University in New York. She was employed at Elmhurst High School as the Head Librarian, and retired after 38 years of service. She also taught English at IPFW. Mildred was a member of the First Baptist Church where she taught Adult Sunday School for over 40 years. She enjoyed reading, trivia, and spending time with her grandchildren. The surviving relatives include son - Bill (Marsha) Hibben of Fort Wayne; a grandson - Carl (Kimberly) Hibben of Chicago; a granddaughter - Erin (Alex) Kircher of Chicago. She was preceded in death by a sister Claris Thomas and a brother Harry Spore. Memorial services will be held at 2 p. m. on Saturday, January 11, 2014, in the chapel at St. Anne Home, 1900 Randallia Drive. Dr. William Deans will officiate. The family will receive friends at the chapel one hour prior to the memorial service. Sheets & Childs Funeral Home in Churubusco is in charge of the arrangements. *******************************
