Mildred "Jean" Shanabarger

Mildred Jean Shanabarger, 85, of Merriam, passed away on Thursday, July 12, 2018, at Life Care Center in Sullivan, MO. Born on October 21, 1932, in Noble County, she was a daughter to the late Kenneth and Mildred (Hoffman) Magnuson. She spent her formative years in Noble County and graduated from Albion High School. Jean was married to Jack Shanabarger. He preceded her in death in December of 1999. She was a bottle packer at Silgan Plastic in Ligonier for 25 years. Jean enjoyed knitting and taking care of her pets. Survivors include her daughter, Wendy Shanabarger of Merriam; her son, Alan (Judy) Shellman of MO; a grandson, Zackery Shellman and her grand dog, "Toby". Jean is preceded in death by her two brothers, Robert and Richard Magnuson and a sister, Joan Gienger. Graveside services will be 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, July 17, 2018, at the Rose Hill Cemetery in Albion; officiating, Pastor Lane Burgland.
