Nancy J. Geiger, 87, of Churubusco, went to her heavenly home at 6:45 a.m., surrounded by her family, on September 30, 2025.
She was born on May 1, 1938, in Farmland, a daughter of the late Ward "Dick" and Mojeska (Garringer) Slaughter. She spent her formative years in Randolph County and graduated from Monroe Central High School.
Nancy was married on December 20, 1959, in Farmland to Melvin Geiger. Together, the family raised their four children in Churubusco. Melvin preceded her in death on February 5, 2003.
Nancy was known for her warm heart and loving spirit. She was dedicated to the Churubusco Daycare and the Churubusco Methodist Church Preschool, where she poured her love and care into nurturing many children.
An avid reader, Nancy found joy and tranquility in the magic of words. However, what mattered most to Nancy was the precious time she spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, attending their activities, and making unforgettable memories. Nancy loved to host family gatherings, especially during the festive seasons of Thanksgiving and Christmas. Her family was her most valuable treasure.
Nancy is survived by her children, Rebecca (Patrick) Denham, Timothy (Maria) Geiger, Thomas (Juli) Geiger, and Michael (Debbie) Geiger; a brother, Jim (Donna) Slaughter; her 13 grandchildren, Danielle, Jeremiah, Joshua, Jordon, Jessica, Jeffrey, Jacob, Jarren, Isaac, Anna, Melanie, Thomas, and Michalla; 11 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband and parents, Nancy was preceded by her brothers, Ward Slaughter, Jr., John Slaughter, Thomas Slaughter, and Tony Slaughter.
A funeral will take place at 11:00 a.m., on Wednesday, October 8, 2025, at the Churubusco Church of The Nazarene, with calling one hour prior to the service.
The family will also receive family and friends at the church on Tuesday, October 7, 2025, from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m.
