N. Diane Maggert, 81, a resident of Churubusco and widow of Wellington N.e "Wink" Maggert, passed away at 1:38 p. m. on Saturday, April 20, 2013, at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne following a brief illness. Mrs. Maggert was born on August 31, 1931 in Washington Twp. in Allen County, a daughter of Merle and Laura (Heffelfinger) Amstutz, and spent her formative years in rural Allen County.e She graduated from Huntertown High School in 1949, and was married in Leo on March 12, 1950 to Wellington N. "Wink" Maggert. She had lived near Churubusco for a period, and following the death of her husband, moved to Fort Wayne.e She later returned to Churubusco and had lived there for the past 19 years. She retired in 1988 after 20 years as an administrative assistant at St. Joseph Hospital in Fort Wayne, and was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church at Ege. Mr. Maggert preceded her in death on November 16, 1972. The surviving relatives include her children Terri (Ted) Shively and Cherri Swinehart, both of Churubusco, and Mark A. (Sandy) Maggert of Beavercreek, Ohio; a sister Janice Maggert of Fort Wayne; nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a brother Gerald Amstutz. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a. m. on Wednesday, April 24, 2013, at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church at Ege with Father Danney Pinto, the celebrant. The family will receive friends at Sheets & Childs Funeral Home in Churubusco on Tuesday from 4 to 8 p. m.e The Rosary will be recited at 8 p. m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Interment will be in the Ege Catholic Cemetery, Noble County. *****************
