Nicklous Eugene Schweitzer, lovingly known as Nick, passed away at Parkview Regional Medical Center on Saturday, November 25, 2023, at the age of 81. Born on November 17, 1942, in Carleton, Nebraska, Nick was a man of ambition and dedication; attributes that carried him throughout his life. Nick worked at Bob Thomas Ford for 40 years holding several positions, with his most recent being Vice President of Operations. He played an integral role in the Fort Wayne car business for 55 years and his work ethic and dedication set a high standard in the industry. Nick was admired by his peers and employees alike. Nick's passions extended beyond his work. Known never to sit still, he was an avid outdoorsman and found joy in hunting and fishing. He enjoyed woodworking and was a collector of antique toys and canes. Nick also served on the National Service Council for several years, contributing his expertise and leadership skills to the organization. Above all, he cherished the time spent with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, creating memories that will be treasured forever. Nick is survived by his loving wife, Kathleen (Kit) Schweitzer; son, Todd (Kelly) Schweitzer; stepson, Jeffrey (Bonnie) Baranowski; daughter-in-law, Aimee Schweitzer; grandchildren, Adam (Brittany), Austin (Alexa), Cody, Lauryn (Mitchell) Miah, and Tyler; great-grandchildren, Camden, Emerson, Hudson, Beck, Crew, and Cal, (great-grandchild number seven is on the way); and siblings, Marjorie Kremer, Mary Stuzman, Galen Schweitzer, Ronald Schweitzer, and John Schweitzer.
