Norman S. Bojrab, Sr., 91, a resident of rural Fort Wayne, passed away unexpectedly at 8:48 a. m. on Saturday, December 14, 2013 at his home in Eel River Township. Mr. Bojrab was born in Lake Township on September 24, 1922, a son of Samuel and Libby (Slyby) Bojrab. He spent his formative years on the family farm in Lake Township and graduated from Arcola High School. On June 6, 1948 he was married in Wilmington, Ohio to Mary B. Budrey, and was a lifelong resident of rural Allen County. Engaged in farming in Allen County all of his life, he had been employed at the former Huntertown Grain for 27 years, and later worked for Northwest Allen Schools for 12 years before his retirement. He was a member of the Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church, east of Churubusco. In his leisure time he enjoyed fishing, attending tractor pulls and tractor shows, playing cards and spending time in his woods. He loved his farm and most especially loved and cherished his family. Mrs. Bojrab preceded him in death on November 29, 2009. The surviving relatives include his two sons James A. (Bev) Bojrab and Norman Bojrab, Jr., both of Fort Wayne; his brother George W. (Gloria) Bojrab of Fort Wayne; a sister Mary L. Bojrab of Fort Wayne; and his two beloved grandsons Ryan Bojrab of Indianapolis and Ross Bojrab of Fort Wayne. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a sister Lucy Surber on January 6, 2011. Private family funeral services will be held at Sheets & Childs Funeral Home in Churubusco with Rev. Larry Smith, pastor of Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church, officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday from 2-4 and from 6-8 p. m. Interment will be in the Eel River Cemetery, Allen County.
