Norman D. Doud, 84, of rural Columbia City, passed away at 10:50 pm on Thursday, April 11, 2013 at his residence at Tri Lakes.
Mr. Doud was born on November 24, 1928 in Fort Wayne, a son of Hubert and Nora (Goings) Doud, and spent his formative years there.
On January 12, 1968 he was married in Fort Wayne to Jacquelyne Boggs.
He was employed at Boilermakers 374, and retired in 1990 after 33 years. During his time working with the Boilermakers he lived in Fort Wayne, Huntington, and Valparaiso. Upon retiring he summered at his home at Tri Lakes and wintered in New Port Richie Florida.
The surviving relatives include wife, Jacquelyne Doud of Columbia City; step-daughter, Rosemarie Boardman of Holland, MI; a step-grandson, Greg (Traci) Schenkel of Holland, MI; a step-great-grandson, Alex Schenkel of Holland, MI; and his sister Barbra Belote of Fort Wayne.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his step-son Jerry A. Gramelspacher; a sister Gloria Schory; and by a brother Merlin Doud.
Graveside services will be held at Eel River Cemetery on Monday April 15, 2013 at 2:00 p.m., with Rev. Curtiss Johnson, officiating. Interment will follow.
The family will receive friends at the Sheets & Childs Funeral Home from 1:00 pm to 1:45 pm Monday.
