Norman Gregory

September 3, 1942 — November 22, 2025

Norman Glen Gregory, 83, of Churubusco, a devoted husband, loving father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away on November 22, 2025, at his home. Norman was born on September 3, 1942, in Noble County to the late Earl and Irene (Halsey) Gregory. After his formative years, he proudly served his country in the United States Army. Following his military service, Norman married the love of his life, Linda Alfrey, on October 31, 1964. While living in Churubusco, he raised his four children, and in 1966, he began a long career at International Harvester in Fort Wayne. He retired from Navistar (formerly International Harvester) in 1999 after a brief move to Ohio. Upon retirement, he returned to Churubusco to be near his family. Norman had a passion for resourceful improvements and hands-on tinkering. He loved being a grandpa, always ready to play, patiently sharing his knowledge, and just soaking up every minute he spent with his grandkids. He was an avid NASCAR fan, took pride in maintaining his landscape, and enjoyed fishing with his wife. He loved telling jokes and was always quick with a one-liner, his eyes twinkling with mischief. Norman is survived by his wife, Linda Gregory; his children, Lisa (Ken) Goldey, Mark (Angie) Gregory, and Mary (Eric) Bixler; 11 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and sisters, Brenda (Larry) Hughes and Betty Winebrenner. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Kathy Gregory; his sisters, Frances Stump and Inez Blake; his brother, Len Gregory; and his brother-in-law, Gail Winebrenner. In accordance with Norman's wishes, he has been cremated, and the family will privately celebrate his life at a later date. Sheets & Childs Funeral Home has been entrusted with these arrangements.
