Nova Tackett

Nova Tackett, 91, of Churubusco, passed away on Wednesday, August 1, 2018, at Lutheran Life Villages in Kendallville. She was born in Dony, Kentucky, on December 25, 1926, to the late, Floyd and Sally (Osborne) Blevins. She spent her formative years in Kentucky. Nova was married to Russell Tackett on April 18, 1949, in Prestonburg, Kentucky. The couple settled in Churubusco in 1966. Russell preceded Nova in death on February 14, 1996. She was a member of the Little Flossie Church of Regular Baptist. She enjoyed gardening and quilting. Nova is survived by two sons, Dallard (Hope) Tackett of Kendallville and James (Becky Ross) Tackett of Columbia City; a daughter, Pearleane (Terry Berger) Kope of Churubusco; four grandchildren, Adam (Jenna) Tackett, April Tackett, Sara (Cody) Snavley and Brandon (Lisa) Kope; five great-grandchildren. In Addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by an infant son, Russell Tackett, Jr.; a sister, Lona Gibson; two brothers, Walker Blevins and Porty Blevins. Visiting hours will take place at Sheets & Childs Funeral Home on Monday, August 6, 2018, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Calling also one hour prior to the service on Tuesday. Services will begin at 11:00 AM, at Sheets & Childs Funeral Home on Tuesday, August 7, 2018. Burial will follow at Riverview Cemetery, Allen County.
