Patricia Stone

Patricia F. Stone (Oberlin), 77, a resident of Fort Wayne, died at 1:50 a. m. on Friday, December 26, 2008, at St. Joseph Hospital in Fort Wayne.e She had been taken there on Thursday from the Byron Health Center, where she had resided since 2004. Ms. Stone was born on October 25, 1931 in South Bend, a daughter of Charles Stone and Angela Wegner Stone, and spent her formative years in Fort Wayne. In her younger days she enjoyed raising her six children.e Being a homemaker was one of her God given talents along with playing the piano.e She loved her grandchildren with passion, and was very good about reminding her family to say their prayers.e Most recently, she enjoyed telling staff and residents at Byron Health Center about current and not so current world issues.e We love you Mom, Grandma, and friend. The surviving relatives include her children Steve (Dixie) Oberlin of Indianapolis, Sandra (Jim) Clark of Narrowsburg, N. Y., Susan (Jim) Moran and Sharolyn (Roy) Heffron, both of Fort Wayne, Linda (Lance) Taylor of Wheatland, Calif., and Richard (Margaret) Oberlin, Jr; her brother Charles (Joyce) Stone, Jr. of Clio, Calif; her sister Mary Ann Stricat of Los Angeles; eleven grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a grandson Joseph D. Oberlin. Funeral services will be held at 3 p. m. on Sunday, December 28, 2008, at the Sheets & Childs Funeral Home in Churubusco with Chuck Howie, officiating. e The family will receive friends at the mortuary on Sunday after 2 p. m. until the time of the service. Private family burial will be in the Prairie Grove Cemetery, Waynedale.
