Paul Alan Christlieb, 94, formerly of Churubusco, passed away on August 24, 2024, at Parkview Regional Medical Center.
He was born on March 30, 1930, in Ege, to the late Frank and Bessie (Addis) Christlieb. He attended Haag and LaOtto Elementary School and was a proud graduate of Huntertown High School, class of 1948, where he held the distinct honor of being both Valedictorian and Class President. Following his high school graduation, Paul attended Purdue University for a year before joining the Airforce in 1951. He served his country with distinction as the Otis Airforce Base Pharmacist from 1952-1955.
He was the beloved husband of Sharon Christlieb, to whom he had been married since December 20, 1952. Paul was a dedicated and hardworking man, having spent his career at General Electric from which he retired after 39 years of service.
Outside of his professional life, Paul had a passion for auctions and barn sales, delighting in the acquisition and sale of antiques. He and Sharon also enjoyed the simple pleasure of cutting wood, a pastime they took to heart both for personal use and for selling.
Paul is survived by his wife Sharon, and their two children, Holly (Gary) Hull and Layne (Jackie) Christlieb; three grandchildren, Robert, Shane, and Alyssa; a great-grandchild, Emerson; several step grandkids and great grandkids.
In addition to his parents, Frank and Bessie Christlieb, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Dorotha Ramsey, Evelyn Youquelet, Milton Christlieb, Roscoe Christlieb, and Richard Christlieb.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 29, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at Sheets & Childs Funeral Home, Churubusco Chapel. The funeral service will follow at the same location at 1:00 p.m.
Burial will follow at Hooper-King Cemetery, Avilla
