Pauline McGuire, 90, a resident of rural Churubusco and wife of Carl McGuire, passed away at 6:00 p. m. on Tuesday, March 1, 2011, at the family residence in Smith Township following a lengthy illness. Mrs. McGuire was born in Churubusco on May 9, 1920, a daughter of Charles and Alice (Wappes) Weidman, and spent all of her life in this area. On May 8, 1943 she was married in Churubusco to Carl McGuire.e The couple lived in Green Township in Noble County for a period, and have lived at their present farm home in Smith Township since 1949. A homemaker, she also assisted her husband on the family farm.e In her leisure time she enjoyed her yard and flowers, and most especially loved and cherished her family. The surviving relatives include her husband Carl, to whom she was married for over 67 years; her daughter Patricia McGuire of Churubusco; a daughter-in-law Judy McGuire of Churubusco; a grandson Stacy (Krista) Holzinger of Churubusco; and two great-grandsons Jacob Holzinger and Logan Holzinger. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son Jerry L. McGuire on January 16, 2011; by a grandson Chad McGuire on January 27, 2008; and by a brother Archie Weidman. Funeral services will be held at 2 p. m. on Saturday, March 5, 2011, at the Sheets & Childs Funeral Home in Churubusco with Pastor Rick Van Horn, officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday after 12 noon until the time of the service. Interment will be in the Christian Chapel Cemetery, Merriam.
