Phyllis Bear

Phyllis J. Bear, 93, of Fort Wayne, passed away on June 21, 2019, at Lutheran Life Villages on South Anthony Blvd., in Fort Wayne. Born in Fort Wayne, on July 1, 1925, to the late Eldon and Helen (Orthwine) Lott. She spent her formative years in Napoleon, Ohio and graduated from Northside High School. Phyllis was married to Basil Bear on July 25, 1953, in Fort Wayne. He preceded her in death on November 5, 2012. She dedicated her life to her family. She was a member of Suburban Bethlehem Lutheran Church. She served on the Church Banner Committee and at the Botanical Conservatory Gardens. Phyllis is survived by two daughters, Charna (Michael) Boren of LaGrange and Alicia (Douglas) Hill of Ossian; her son, Dr. Thomas (Susan) Bear of South Bend; two granddaughters, Alanna (Travis Towne) Hill and Lauren Bear; three grandsons, Austin (Alishea) Hill, Ryan Bear and Tyler Bear; four great-grandchildren, Ethan, Duke, Hudson and Trevor. She is preceded in death by her brother, Robert Lott. Services will take place at Sheets and Childs Funeral Home on Tuesday, June 25, 2019, at 11:00 a.m., with calling starting at 10:00 a.m. Burial will take place at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Fort Wayne.
