Phyllis M. Imbody, 87 of Churubusco, passed away on June 1st, 2023, at Parkview Whitley Hospital.
She was born on December 2nd, 1935, in Fort Wayne, to the late Ellsworth and Dolores (Rondot) Crick.
Phyllis was married to Cyrus "Dan" Imbody in Fort Wayne, on June 14, 1952. He preceded her in death on March 25, 2005.
Phyllis was a dedicated and generous individual who touched the lives of many through her service and unwavering love. As a member of the Churubusco United Methodist Church, she embodied the spirit of Matthew 25:35, "For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in."
Phyllis dedicated her life to her family and her community, finding joy in her roles as a loving homemaker, a skilled seamstress, and an avid reader. Her love for golf was only surpassed by her commitment to the community, where she served as a Cub Scout leader and was actively involved in the church's food giveaway program. Phyllis's unwavering commitment to helping others was a testament to her kind and generous nature.
Phyllis is survived by her children, Cyrus (Deb) Imbody III, Sarah (David) Garman, Jacob (Scotta) Imbody, Rebecca Baron, and Rachel Imbody; her siblings, John (Pam) Crick, James (Kathy) Crick, and Janet Auer; 20 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her sister, Martha Crick.
The funeral service will take place at the Churubusco United Methodist Church, on Friday, June 9th, 2023, at 2:00 p.m., with calling one hour prior to the service.
The family will also receive family and friends at the church on Thursday, June 8th, 2023, from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
Phyllis will be laid to rest at the Riverview Cemetery, Churubusco
