Ralph Carter

Ralph Briggs Carter Jr., 62, of Fort Wayne, passed away on February 12, 2025, at Dupont Hospital. Ralph was born in Columbia City on April 26, 1962, to the late Ralph and Fae (Butler) Carter, Sr. Mr. Carter was married to Marcia Hile on September 28, 1990, and she preceded him in death on Feb. 16, 2015. The couple met while working for Scott's food stores in Columbia City. Along with playing pranks and jokes on his friends and family, Ralph enjoyed NASCAR, Bingo, going out to eat, and collecting special-edition Monopoly boards. He loved his family dearly and enjoyed spending time together at reunions and holidays. He also enjoyed cooking and baking for family and friends. Ralph is survived by his daughter, Julia Carter; a brother, Larry Carter; a sister, Stella Egolf; a brother-in-law, Mahlon Peters; countless cousins and over a hundred nieces and nephews spanning four generations. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by his siblings, James (Barbara) Carter, Pat Peters, and Catherine Perry; a brother-in-law, Dick Egolf. Services will be held March 1, 2025, at Gethsemane Lutheran Church, 1505 Bethany Lane Ft. Wayne Indiana at 2:00 pm with one hour of visitation prior. Memorials may be directed to the Special Olympics or do something kind for someone. Sheets & Childs Funeral Home has been entrusted with these arrangements.
