Ralph E. "Butch" Perry, 74, of Fort Wayne, passed away at 9:08 a.m. on Monday, December 29, 2014 at his home. Mr. Perry was born on May 31, 1940 in Fort Wayne, a son of Sidney and Valleta (Oberholtzer) Perry, Sr. He spent his formative years in Fort Wayne. After high school he serviced in the United States Army. On June 16, 1961 he was married in Thorntown to Pat Baer, and moved from Colorado to Fort Wayne after his military service. He was employed at Dana Corp., Fort Wayne, and retired in 1996 after more than 32 years of service. Mr. Perry was a member of Churubusco Masonic Lodge and the American Legion Post #256 in Pierceton. He loved his pets and camping and fishing at Pic.A.Spot campground on Barbee lake. The surviving relatives include his wife, Pat Perry of Fort Wayne; daughters, Robin Taylor and April (William) Foote both of Fort Wayne; sons, Chris (Daphanie) Perry and David Perry both of Fort Wayne; grandsons, Richard Roberts, Doug Petitt, and William Foote; granddaughters, Jessica Foote, Chrystal Foote, Shawna Perry, Maegan Perry, and Amber Cornett. He was preceded in death by his parents Sidney and Valetta (Oberholtzer) Perry, Sr.; two brothers, Sidney Perry, Jr. and Edward Perry; a sister Diane Lee; three grandsons. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Saturday at Sheets & Childs Funeral Home, with Pastor Rick Van Horn, officiating. The family will receive friends at the Funeral Home from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Friday, or one hour prior to the service.
