Randall "Randy" Gene Sonner, 60, of Fort Wayne, passed away on March 5, 2025, in Inglewood, California.
Randy was born on May 25, 1964, in Fort Wayne, to the late Richard and Linda (ODriscoll) Sonner. He spent his childhood years in Churubusco and attended Churubusco High School.
Randy was a man of the world, and loved to travel, but he was also a man of his community. A reliable driver for Omnisource, Randy was a familiar and friendly face to many in Fort Wayne. He had an unshakeable commitment to his work, his colleagues, and his city. He leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and countless memories of fishing and hunting trips, family gatherings, and thrilling motorcycle rides. He was a true family man, rarely missing a beat in the rhythm of his children's lives, whether it was attending their games, hosting family dinners, or simply being there when they needed him. Randy's love for his family was at the core of who he was. He also found a deep sense of freedom on the open road, riding his Harley Davidson with his buddies by his side, embracing the thrill of the ride and the camaraderie that came with it. "He was an avid outdoorsmen, he believed some of life's best lessons were learned with a rod in hand and the sound of water nearby; or sitting in a tree stand on a chilly morning."
Randy is survived by his sons, Aaron (Sarah) Sonner and Adam (Amanda) Sonner; his stepson, Shannon (Kayla) Frey; his brothers, Rick (Jill) Sonner and Jason (Holly) Sonner; and several grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Richard Sonner and Linda (Gary "Mac") Millington.
