Randy Gene Baughman, 72, of Ossian, passed away on September 11, 2024, in Keystone.
He was born on May 24, 1952, in Wolf Lake, to the late Gene Baughman and Marilyn (Holbrook) Shenfeld. Randy was a retired over-the-road truck driver known for his love of the open road, a profession that suited his adventurous spirit. His passion for exploring never waned, even after retirement, he enjoyed spending his free time outdoors. He moved to Clear Water, Florida for 15 years, where he enjoyed going out into the Everglades on his airboat and snake hunt. A keen angler, he found peace and solace by the water's edge with a fishing rod in hand. Randy also had a competitive streak which was often on display during spirited games of pool with friends and family, and at local pool tournaments.
Randy is fondly remembered by his daughter, Kristen Baughman; his son, Jeff (Lori) Forker; his sister, Barbara Urhausen; his five grandchildren, Ryan (Lydia Johnson) Forker, Lindsey (Anissa) Forker, Luke Klopfenstein, Elizabeth Beitler, and Leiah Kunkel; a great-grandson, Corbin Forker.
Randy was preceded in death by his parents, his sister, Marla Purisch, and his brother, Kevin Baughman.
At Randy's request there will be no services at this time.
The family invites those who knew and loved Randy to share their memories and upload photos to the memorial page, thus creating a lasting tribute to a man whose spirit was as wide and welcoming as the open road he loved.
